Period: August 6 (Fri) - August 8 (Sun)
The Yassa Festival is said to have started about 440 years ago as a celebration of the completion of Mihara Castle by Takakage Kobayakawa. People dance and walk through the streets to the sound of shamisens and drums for 2 days. There are no fixed steps for dancing, and the free-style dance and cries of "yassa, yassa" are a sight for visitors.

Period: August 13 (Fri) - August 15 (Sun)
The "Niagari Dance", considered the prefecture's intangible cultural asset, is performed in the Chuo Park and shopping districts on the first day. The "Iroha-maru Yosakoi" dance and many other events are held on the second day. On the third day, many fireworks burst across the night sky as the finale to the local festival.

Period: August 14 (Sat)
With a password "let's play around Ocean and the beach", it's full of events that everyone will be able to have fun with easily. Based in the Okushi Camping site and Okushi swimming beach, "catching fish", canoe triathlon, Bon-odori(dance) party, and some local entertainment will be taking place. Totally 2000 shots of fireworks on the ocean, burning the night sky of summer, will conclude the festival.

This is a festival re-enacts the Murakami Suigun pirates that were active around Innoshima Island between the Nanbokucho period and the Muromachi and Warring States periods. It consists of three parts - the "Island Festival", the "Fire Festival" and the "Sea Festival". The most spectacular is the "Sea Festival," a re-enacted race of the pirates' unique ships called "Kohaya". You can also try your hand at rowing.

This fireworks festival draws attention from all over the country as it is held in Miyajima Island, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan and a world heritage site. Fireworks fired from the sea silhouette the Grand Gate and fascinate visitors. It's recommended that you arrive on Miyajima Island as early as possible if you want to see the fireworks.

Date: August 15 (Sun)
It’s an exciting fireworks festival with approximately 2000 shots. It takes place during the Obon (A Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed spirits of one's ancestors) period annually. Parades, beer garden, and Bon(=Obon) dance will bring a lot of excitement to the festival.

Date: August 22 (Sun)
Fireworks are shot off in Ueno Park, Shobara City. About 3,000 fireworks, like aerial shells and water flowers, burst across the night sky, and their reflection on the lake in the park is moving and beautiful. Programs with special themes are also enjoyable.
