It was first called Hiroshima Prefectural Commercial Exhibition (HMI)), built in 1915(Taisho 4th), used to be a widely known building for its delicate design, and become a symbol of the city, of which the large city “Hiroshima” was very proud.
In this exhibition, you can trace the history of city “Hiroshima”, and follow the changes of this famous construction, which has given the impression to the world as a symbol of peace after the atomic bombing, through a lot of materials and works; totally more than 150 pieces such as photographs, paintings, literatures, manga (cartoon), and clothing, including the ones published for the first time. A special call for the associated project, named “Letters to the A-Bomb Dome-Words of Peace for Hiroshima” will be implemented.
