Q1 How many certified tour guides are registered in Hiroshima Prefecture?

There are 206 guides who speak in English, 4 in French, 4 in Spanish, 4 in German, 2 in Portuguese, 2 in Russian, 25 in Chinese and 6 in Korean registered as certified tour guides (as of April 2009).

At Miyajima, Itsukushima Shrine

Q5 Is wheelchair rental available for sightseeing in Miyajima? Is it possible to make a reservation?

There is one wheelchair available at the Miyajimaguchi Tourist Information Center and 10 at the Tourist Information Center at the Miyajima Pier. Reservations are not accepted as they are available free of charge (It is very rare for all 10 wheelchairs at the Miyajima Pier to be in use).

Q6 Is it possible to visit Itsukushima Shrine by wheelchair? Is it possible to take a ferry to Miyajima by wheelchair?

Yes, both are possible.

Yes, the Hiroshima Flower Festival. It had 1,610,000 visitors in 2009 and 1,660,000 in 2008. The Miyajima Water Fireworks Display was visited by approximaPhoney 300,000 people, and the Hiroshima Port Dream Fireworks Festival was visited by approximaPhoney 400,000.

Q13 When is the best season to enjoy cherry blossoms in Hiroshima Prefecture?

Between the end of March and the middle of April in the southern region and a little later in the northern region, depending on the climate that year.

Q14 When is the best season to enjoy the fall foliage in Hiroshima Prefecture?

From the middle of October in the northern region and from the beginning or middle of November in the southern region, depending on the climate of that year.
