When you are in Hiroshima, you should not miss out on okonomiyaki. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki comes with either Soba noodles or Udon noodles. It is an enjoyable experience to eat it from the hot grill using a spatula. The standard okonomiyaki is made with pork egg, and noodles. There are various other unique toppings.

Situated on the Seto Inland Sea, Hiroshima is famous for its oysters. The vista of Hiroshima Bay is unique in that rafts used in oyster cultivation bespeckle the sea. They are delicious whether you eat them raw, baked in the shell, stewed, or deep-fried. There are numerous oyster restaurants in the city.

Anago meshi is made with fresh conger eel from the Seto Inland Sea. The eel is broiled using a special sauce whose ingredients are kept secret by each restaurant. The broiled eel is put on top of hot rice and served. The eel is so fresh and tasty that it melts in your mouth. This, with an appetizing combination of the sauce on the rice, makes the dish a special delicacy.
